The French developer needs more time to survive the turbulent waters and they are postponing the video game to 2023.
One of the greatest fears of pirate adventure enthusiasts has come true. Although Ubisoft seemed to have the wind in its favor with a Skull and bones which had already announced several delays in the past, it seems that the French developer needs more time to overcome the tide. This is confirmed by the study in a statement published on its website a few minutes ago.
“Our team continues working hard to polish and balance the experience ahead of the world premiere. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to move our release date to March 9, 2023“, we read in the message. “We can’t wait for you to try out Skull & Bones and dive headfirst into the dangerous and exciting world of creating your own pirate empire. To give you the best possible experience, we’ve decided to take a little longer to make sure we can deliver just that.”
It will arrive on March 9, but before that there will be a beta versionThat doesn’t mean we have to say goodbye to the sea until further notice, as Ubisoft is preparing us for an upcoming playtest: “For those of you who are most anxious, we’re also happy to announce that we will have a open beta of the game in the near future. We’ll be sharing more information on how you can sign up soon, so keep your spyglass focused on our social media for more news and announcements.”
Unfortunately, this is not news that will surprise many players. After all, Ubisoft lost several sailors during the development of this game, including the lead designer and director of Ubisoft Singapore. In addition, it should be remembered that this study benefits from a state subsidy which obliges it to launch the game in the coming months, so it is possible that its officials have made an agreement with the Singapore government.
