Infinity Ward has confirmed several changes to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 that it plans to make following the game’s recent beta testing.
A PlayStation-exclusive beta of Modern Warfare took place earlier this month, followed by a cross-play test that added Xbox and PC players.
Despite adjusting footstep audio and enemy visibility between tests, Infinity Ward acknowledged that more changes still needed to be made.
The Call of Duty developers commented the following:
“While sentiment around footstep audio was more positive during the second beta weekend, we’ve seen your continued feedback on footstep volume and will continue to balance enemy/friend footstep audio before launch. .”
Infinity Ward said he was very pleased with the results of the weapon tuning changes for the second weekend of the beta, but there are more changes to come.
Activision also said the Modern Warfare 2 beta, which was available to players who pre-ordered the game, was a record for the series.

Launching next year, Call of Duty Warzone Mobile also became the fastest mobile game from Activision, Blizzard and King to surpass 15 million pre-registrations on Google Play, according to the publisher.
Modern Warfare 2’s release date is October 28, but players who pre-order the digital version of the game and will have early access to its campaign from October 20.
Activision recently confirmed the Warzone 2 release date for November 16, which will also mark the start of Modern Warfare 2’s first season of live content.
