With the aim of promoting and promoting projects that reduce the technological gap and generate real opportunities for inclusion and development, Proof of integrity it’s a Argentina initiative who works to publicize the benefits of blockchain technology through education and collaborative learning in vulnerable neighborhoods.
“I had the idea of generating a crypto project,” he says. Michel Cohen, founder of Proof of integrity, in dialogue with Techno TN: “In the company I run, we had thought of implementing something related to blockchain and when I had this idea, everything said to me ‘it’s over here'”.

The idea that Cohen was “falling” with was the use crypto technology to generate social impact.
what is it Proof of integrity
Proof of integrity (https://www.proofofintegrity.org/). This is an initiative that aims, through the program #learncryptopublicize and transmit the benefits of blockchain technology for poor and vulnerable communities and thus generate a more equitable, inclusive and sustainable society.
“In 2020, I had enough time, like everyone else, to reflect. I wanted to do new things, do something with a social impact. First, it occurred to me to put put in place a platform that connects people who want to help, with people or families who are struggling to make ends meet,” says Michel Cohen about the start of the project.
“At that time, I was full the theme of proof of humanity, the Santiago Siri initiative and the Universal Basic Income UBI token. There I connected the idea I had the year before with crypto and with everything Santi had done. Your UBI token is for everyone, it’s universal, but there’s nothing to redirect it to the people who really need it. That’s when I did the Click on. I immediately arrived at the office and wrote to Santi,” Michel said: “He loved the idea and started helping us spread it.”
That year, Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum, came to Argentina. Santiago Siri, who lives in Spain, also traveled to Buenos Aires and visited the team that Cohen was building: “Following this meeting with Santi, we started to receive many offers help. This is how our team began to consolidate, which at the beginning were only volunteers”.

After this meeting and conversations between the project members, Michel and his team realized that the original idea had to be changed and decided focus on those who need it most“We decided we needed to get to the most urgent places first: the neighborhoods,” Cohen said. Techno TN“And we can’t go to the neighborhoods without the education component. I mean, you can’t just try to help people create a profile on proof of humanitywithout explaining how to have a Wallet or without teaching the basics, not just of crypto, but of finance. Then the idea started to change. It has evolved from a financial aid project to something much more educational.
#learncrypto This is the first training program for Proof of integrity and consists of a cycle of four workshops with theoretical and practical content where participants learn about personal finance, blockchain technology and the possible applications of use, through the personalized support of tutors to facilitate learning.
“Classes are held once a week in the Padre Mugica neighborhood of Retiro,” he explained. Tomás Grau Baena, Executive Director of Proof of integrity“In addition, the tutors maintain communication via WhatsApp with the participants. By this means, slogans are offered to run for the rest of the days and questions are answered.
The choice of location was no accident. Grau Baena says it happened naturally: “When Buterin visited Barrio 31 – Padre Mugica’s neighborhood – many people who wanted to collaborate on the project had already worked there. This is how we created a lot of links with the neighborhood and the most natural thing was then to do a first internship there, because of the contacts generated. In addition, a priest of the Catholic Church, Father Fabián Báez, who also knows Santi Siri, had participated in Vitalik’s visit and was very attached to the project. He contacted us with Father Nacho, a priest who is in Barrio 31, who lent us the Mugica club to take the course there and that’s how we started.

In the courses, you learn about the blockchain and the crypto ecosystem, its use cases are presented with the aim of bridging the technological gap and generating and encouraging a crypto community in the neighborhood and thus uniting young people with the same interests. As explained on the website of Proof of integritythe course encourages participants to interact with decentralized technologies, they have access to the creation of a profile in PoH, to start having a first contact with the world of crypto-currencies. Yes the inhabitants of the district are already responding positively to the initiative.
“People’s reaction is very good”, says Tomás: “We see that they find something useful in the workshops. An interesting indicator so far is that the majority of those who start the course complete it. Many are interested in both personal finance and blockchain.
Grau Baena claimed that interest in workshops grows as tutors travel to the neighborhood“We do a lot of activities during the week, online via WhatsApp, but when they are most interested is when we are present in the neighborhood. There is a very different degree of attention and engagement than what we perceive online.

Diego Gil is responsible for the program’s volunteers. in conversation with Techno TNexplained some of the achievements that Proof of integrity he is already starting to reach: “From the program, we have already been able to obtain scholarships for the boys for other courses where they can use the cryptographic knowledge that they have already learned in the workshops. In addition, we are also starting with scholarships to learn how to program”.
Gil underlined the participants’ interest in learning to program and learning about new technologies.“Many young people who come to our workshop have ideal skills to follow programming, graphics and everything related to technology. Although we are still in an initial phase, we are already beginning to see the results that will allow us to establish a kind of virtuous circle that will connect boys with academic and professional opportunities.
In end of Proof of integrity stated that the idea is to continue the courses and extend them to other areas. The next one will be in Villa Lugano and from there the project will expand to other popular neighborhoods in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina and later in the region.
